How we update your site
A plugin or theme update can break a WordPress site. That’s why we never update the live site first.
Back up
We take a fresh backup of your site before touching anything.
Update a copy
WordPress, plugins and themes are updated on a staging copy first.
Test
We check that pages, forms and key features still work.
Go live
Only then do we update the live site. If something still breaks, we fix it.

What counts as a small change?
Things like updating text, replacing images, adding a page using your existing layout, or adjusting a form. Bigger work, like a redesign or a new feature, is quoted separately before we start.
What is the difference between Managed and Safe Updates?
Safe Updates covers updates only: we update WordPress, plugins and themes, test first, and fix anything an update breaks. Managed includes that, plus fixing other problems on your site, small changes on request and priority support.
What happens if an update breaks my site?
We update a staging copy first, so most problems are caught before your live site changes. If something still breaks, we fix it or restore the site from a backup.
Can I still log in to WordPress myself?
Yes. It’s your website. You keep full access and can edit content whenever you like.
Does my site have to be hosted with you?
Yes. Managed includes hosting on our servers in Canada, so we can control updates, backups and the server together. We move your site for you at no extra cost.
