A private server or a VPS?
A VPS usually comes empty: you install the system, the control panel and the backups, then keep them all up to date. A private server gives you the same server to yourself, and we do that work.

Questions about private servers
Can I get root access or SSH to the server?
No. We keep root access so we can keep the server secure and up to date and stand behind it. You manage your websites in the panel: files, databases, email, PHP versions and backups. SSH and WP-CLI are available inside your own websites.
How long does setup take?
1 to 3 business days after your first payment. We tell you when the server is ready, then move your websites.
Can I change size later?
Yes. Tell us and we move your websites to a bigger server. You pay the difference for the rest of your billing period, and the move takes a few minutes of downtime, at a time you choose.
Is the IP address mine?
It’s your server’s address for as long as you have the server. If you leave, it stays with the server. Your domains are yours and come with you.
Can you look after my websites too?
Yes. Add Safe Updates and we update WordPress, plugins and themes, tested first, for C$49US$35 per website per month. For Managed, where we also fix problems and make small changes, we include the price in your quote.
Do you set up dedicated servers?
Yes, for sites that need a whole physical server. Same idea: only yours, run by us. Ask us for a quote.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Private servers have the same 30-day money-back guarantee on your first payment as every hosting plan. After that, you can cancel from your client portal anytime. Cancel at least 48 hours before your renewal date to avoid the next charge.
Which currency will I pay in?
Customers in Canada pay in Canadian dollars, plus applicable taxes. Customers in the US and other countries pay in US dollars.
